I love Windows Server 2008, but there's one aspect about it that continues to bug me: the arrangement of the logout options.
I feel whoever came up with this arrangement was taking Opposite Day a little too serious.
For those who have still not witnessed this amazing UI layout, let me show you it:

Figure 1-1: No Log Off button :-(

Figure 1-2: Log Off is positioned as far as possible from the last click
In Figure 1-2, the other options rehash the options that were already available to you in one click, making Log Off available as the last option at the top. Nice.
I think of the times I would log into a box, make a quick configuration change and quickly log off. Yes, there were times I had that tiny doubt in my head about whether I hit the shutdown button or the log off button. However, if the server was configured appropriately, you'd at least be halted by a dialog box asking you why on earth you would possibly want to down the server.
I can certainly understand if the shutdown options were moved a click away, but the option to log off? There's surely a logical explanation behind this, just not one I've thought of. I bet Google search will know, but I just felt like making a random rant today! :-)
